Grand Victorian Inn

The Grand Victorian Inn is quaint with a lot of character. We stayed in the Joy Suites and really enjoyed the whole visit. The room was very clean and comfortable. We loved sitting on the front porch in the evenings. Breakfast was delicious, and the owners were very friendly. Great place to explore the area and near Mammoth Cave NP. We’ll definitely be back!

This was my first trip to the area and I'm glad we found this place to stay for a few nights. Room 9 was very comfortable. The location is convenient for visiting Mammoth and Cave City. The owners are very kind and the lady who first welcomed us was incredibly accommodating. We looked forward to the delicious breakfast each morning. I also recommend Betty's diner nearby for a good lunch!

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Victorian. The hotel is a living history museum of decades past. On arrival we were a little overwhelmed by the number antiques and nick-naks but quickly acclimated. The hotel and room was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. The nearby railroad crossing was noticeable but not too loud on the backside of the hotel. 1 or 2 trains each night. The staff and proprietors were very hospitable and helpful. Very convenient location to Mammoth Cave NP.

This was like stepping back in time and a breath of fresh air. I frequently tour old victorian homes and museums so when the opportunity arose for us to stay in this Victorian Inn, I was all in! What a beautiful place. I know others find the train disruptive, but we loved it. Didnt hear it past 9pm and we stayed in Suite Joy up front. Need was great, room decorated well, and all around the house. Kitchen area was awesome too. The true highlight of our stay was the staff member who prepared our breakfast. One of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Can't wait to come back! Thank you!

This place is going for an old rustic Victorian feel and does a great job of it. It has such a long history and is very cool to be in the building surrounded by so may little trinkets, pictures, books, and pieces of history. The staff is so kind. Karen the owner is very sweet and accommodated our very late arrival seamlessly. The kitchen staff and chefs are so sweet and made a delicious breakfast with made to order eggs and pancakes. It’s very close to the Mammoth Cave national park and is a wonderful historical place to stay.

If you want to step back in time and enjoy a slice of Americana, please visit Grand Victorian Inn. My wife and I spent three nights here, as it was the perfect place to stay during our trip to Mammoth Cave / Bowling Green, KY. The Inn has all of that Victorian charm one would expect. So great that a place like this was restored and continues to be treasured. It is right across from an active railroad. While the first night was a bit startling when the trains passed (only because we aren't used to that), those passing trains are great and only add to the wonderful experience. The sounds of the whistle and clickety clacking on the tracks was nice. So neat to see trains still in use after 200 years. Karin and Gary are wonderful hosts. Very friendly to talk to and really enjoyed their story of how they became owners of the property. The breakfasts were wonderful (food and atmosphere). Loved being able to sit on the rocking chairs and enjoy some peace. The drink station in the kitchen area was a great benefit. Hope to return one day. If we do, Gary, we have to take that Studebaker for a drive :). Thanks Karin and Gary!

This past August, I had the pleasure of staying in the Renfro Suite at the Inn. The room was clean, the breakfast was enjoyable, and the inn is conveniently located for those visiting Mammoth Cave National Park. The owners, Gary and Karin, were very welcoming. Thank you :)

The Grand Victorian is a true place out of time. A former 1880s train station where history lingers in the creak of the floors, the tall windows, and the quiet hum of the town outside. We stayed two nights on our way home from Ohio and it felt like pressing pause on the modern world. Our room was cozy and layered with antique furniture, retro quilts, and walls crowded with old photos and art. A tiny loft above the bathroom held a jumble of vintage suitcases, like forgotten luggage from another century. The bed was so comfortable I slept like I hadn’t in weeks. Coffee appeared at 8 and breakfast at 8:30, just enough time to rock on the wide porch, trade stories with other guests, and watch the morning light on the old train tracks. Breakfast was simple and perfect: pancakes one morning, waffles the next, always with eggs, fruit, and plenty of coffee, served on china at tables set with lanterns. Karin and Gary welcomed us like old friends. Between the Bell’s Tavern ruins next door, the peaceful surroundings, and the lived-in charm of the inn itself, it is the kind of place that seeps into your memory. We will be back every time the road takes us north. **TLDR:** A cozy, historic former train station with welcoming hosts, great breakfasts, and the feeling of stepping back in time. Worth returning to every trip north.
